Two For Mum: Mother’s Day Brunch & Spa Combos

Read next

It may seem like the biggest Mother’s Day cliché (next to corner deli flowers) but we’ve yet to meet an NYC mom who would be bummed about being treated to brunch on May 14th. But, in a city that’s teeming with brunch spots, it may feel impossible to pick just the right one. Not to worry. We did the taste-testing for you and, behold, our list of more than a dozen places the mom in your life will absolutely love. Bonus: We’ve paired each with a nearby spa: The ultimate Mother’s Day double feature!

For a Taste of Thai: Pinto Garden

As Chef Yo says, you won’t find a stitch of bamboo at his sophisticated West Village Thai restaurant. What you will find is an incredible seasonally-evolving menu featuring brunch favorites with a twist, such as buttermilk fried chicken and lemongrass waffles (Chef Yo makes his buttermilk and lemongrass from scratch, FYI), served in a space that feels like you’re sitting in someone’s gorgeous living room. Reservations are suggested, especially if you want to sit in the lush enclosed backyard garden and sip your way through an unlimited mimosa brunch (the restaurant features a traditional one or a lychee bellini). And, whatever you do, save room for a pain au chocolate, seasonal muffin or scone served with lemongrass butter and homemade seasonal jam. Chill: For a treatment head to<a target="_blank" href=""> Haven Spa for "The Bitch Massage", ($140/60 minutes) which works to address anxiety, stress, insomnia, irritability, and premenstrual symptoms by using specific massage strokes, pressure points, stretches, and oil aromas, or try "The Geek Massage" ($145/60 minutes) designed for those with lots of upper body tension from hunching over a computer all day.
