New York is home to all kinds of candy shops, many of which, understandably, cater hard to the kid set. Sugarfina, a fresh, sleek, spot on the Upper East Side stocks treats both the kids and you will enjoy. With packaging to make any perfectionist swoon, candy that tastes as good as it looks, and some special flavors developed for grown-up palates, it’s worth the trip!

Chic Sweets on Madison Ave.
While the Sugarfina brand is not entirely new to NYC, the Madison Avenue spot is the company’s first full-fledged store in the city. The shop is billed as a candy store for grown-ups, with sophisticated gummy flavors such as Champagne bears and peach bellini, as well as a limited edition rosé gummy that people became irrationally obsessed with this summer. (These uncommon sweets make Sugarfina one of our picks for stylish baby shower favors and gender reveal parties.)

Out-of-the-ordinary really is a guiding principle here, and the founders literally travel the world in search of surprising and special sweets; 75 percent of the candy offered is exclusive to Sugarfina, and not available anywhere else in the U.S.

Sugarfina for Kids
From Fruity Loops (crunchy candies that have a crispy cereal center, are covered in milk chocolate, and then dipped in a fruity candy shell) to gummies (classic bears to less-traditional retro sneakers) to fuji apple or peanut butter caramels, there is something for every kid at this store as well. (That’s not even counting the chocolate options.)

Baby Shower Options Galore
To serve as decor or to reveal a baby’s gender, Sugarfina has you covered. Ice cream themed shower? Ice Cream Cone gummies from Germany come in strawberry and raspberry, and even vanilla waffle cone. If you’re looking for a more sophisticated take on a classic candy favor, Hello Bambino and Hello Bambina Greek almond candies are as memorable as they are yummy.

Yes, it’s a Sugar Splurge
You can expect to pay a bit more at Sugarfina, but it’ll look like you did. (Importing small batch confections from Europe and Asia is not cheap, nor is rent on Madison Avenue.)

The store’s signature small clear cubes are $7.50; a box of three candies you can mix and match is $28. A quick gift on the go is the Faves Tasting Box, Sugarfina’s eight bestsellers, stylishly wrapped in a gift box for $26.
