Ah, Thanksgiving. Some years you want to do the whole thing yourself, from the shopping to the peeling to the brining…and some years you just. don’t. Whether you want a little help getting the best ingredients and recipes guaranteed to work, or you really want to phone it in (i.e. let someone else do all the cooking and the clean up) this is a judgement free-zone, and we’ve got suggestions! Click through to see our ideas on how to make this turkey day a little easier — and enjoyable! — for the whole family.

For Home Cooking at Home (That You Don’t Have to Make Yourself)

Several BBQ joints in NYC specialize in the very staples of the Thanksgiving meal. Dinosaur BBQ is offering a "Turkey Deluxe" package for $159.95, featuring a 14-16 pound all natural pit-roasted turkey, homemade giblet gravy, Cooter's Mama's cornbread stuffing, whipped sweet potatoes and two pies of your choice. Offered by both the Harlem and the Park Slope locations, it serves 8 - 12 people. Check out the menu here, and order by 11/23.

You'll have to pick up your order from Hill County BBQ (the chain has spots in downtown Brooklyn and the Flatiron District) but it's worth the trip. The restaurant offers packages to feed five to 12 people and also sells items a la carte. In addition to a whole pit-smoked turkey with pan gravy, choose from a dizzying number of sides including sweet potato bourbon mash, green bean casserole, Texas toast stuffing, Longhorn cheddar mac & cheese and collard greens. In addition to the classic pumpkin pie, Hill Country also has Caramel Apple Streusel and Bourbon Pecan. Packages range from $210 - $300; you can check out the menu here.
