Hooray for the season that brings blooms, warmer temps, and puts a spring in everyone’s step! While some Easter egg hunts and photos with the Easter Bunny have been cancelled (again) because of Covid-19, some are happening! NYC Virtual Easter Parade

The city's festive annual Easter Parade will be virtual for the second year in a row to keep things Covid-19 safe. 

But you can still claim glory by posting your best Easter bonnet and finery to Instagram. Tag it with #EasterOnFifth by 5 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 4. Winners will be announced at 6 p.m. The prize? A one-night stay in a deluxe room at the Pierre Hotel on Fifth Avenue, plus a continental breakfast for two.

The Amazing Easter Scavenger Hunt

Put your thinking caps on for this hunt! A series of clues leads you around the Highline, Chelsea Market and Hudson Yards, asking you to perform physical and mental challenges along the way! Wear comfortable shoes and wear a mask. 

One member of the team should have a smart phone (either Android or I-Phone). The hunt is run through the app ScanQuest—download it before you arrive.

NYSoM Easter Eggstravaganza

Join NYSoM for a socially-distanced and masked Easter egg hunt, a painted Easter egg giveaway, Easter crafts and activities. Groups of 5 hunters at a time every 10 minutes will take part in this hunt for kids 12 and under. It's free, and first-come, first-served. Register now!

Eggstravaganza with the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine

The bad news: the popular egg dying event at the Cathedral is not happening this year. The good news: the church's educator Ashley Frenkel created a video tutorial on how to color Easter eggs naturally, using color sources such as turmeric, onion skins, teas, cabbage, beets and coffee!

Watson Adventures Online Easter Egg Hunt

Go on an egg hunt around the world with Watson Adventures. Eggs are hidden in art museum paintings, in royal homes as Fabergé eggs, or in natural history museums as giant dinosaur eggs and tiny hummingbird eggs. Hosts meet with teams on Zoom and send you hopping off around the world, following clues that lead you to websites where you must find eggs and answer fun questions about them. Hunt is for ages 10 and up, and each team must include one adult.

Barnyard Egg Hunt at Queens County Farm Museum

The Queens County Farm Museum is hosting its annual egg hunt with social distancing built in. (Timed tickets will be sold for egg hunts throughout the day.) Spread out on the farm's 47 acres of outdoor space, visit with the farm’s animals and hop on a hayride. Bring your own basket if you can.  Food vendors will be on the farm all day selling treats. Advance tickets are required, and guests must follow Covid-19 safety protocol.

Bartow Pell Mansion Museum Easter Egg Hunt

How often do you get to search for eggs in the midst of a formal garden surrounding a Grecian-style stone mansion on land that was purchased from Siwanoy Indians in 1654? Bring your own basket and start hunting at this event for kids ages two to 12—then get your photo with the Easter Bunny.

This event is by registration only and will strictly follow the CDC and New York State and New York City COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. Hunts will be in one-hour sessions starting at 10 a.m. with the last session starting at 3 p.m. Rain or shine.
