Summer is here. Still looking for a summer camp for the kids in Portland? Here are a few summer camps that still have space. For most of these camps, registration is just a quick phone call or website visit away.

Audubon Society of Portland

What: Offers different day and overnight camps—including Raptor Rama (1st grade), All About Bugs (2nd and 3rd grade), Forest to Farm (4th to 6th grade), and Destination Redwoods (6th to 9th grade), which includes and overnight camping trip.

Ages: Grades 1 through 9

Hours: 9:00 am  – 4:00 pm (except for overnight trips)

Dates: Still room in some late June camps. July and August camps are filling up fast.

The Playground Gym (pictured)

What: A mix of open-gym time, organized games, skills-building activities, craft, music and art time, and games from martial arts, gymnastics, creative movement, yoga, physical education and more. You can be sure your child will come home happy and a little bit tired each day.

Ages: 5-12

Hours: Full day 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, half day (9:00 am – noon, 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm), and after care (3:30 pm – 5:30 pm)

Dates: There is still availability in June, July and August camps.

Portland Children’s Museum

What: Children learn how clay, paper, paint and other mediums teach us about our world and about ourselves through hands-on exploration. They also learn how to thoughtfully communicate their ideas, thoughts and dreams into their work.

Ages: 1 – 10

Hours: Varies by age and camp

Dates: Limited availability for late June. July and August spaces still available.

DO JUMP! Physical Theatre School

What: An exploration of creative movement, physical theater, acrobatics, and trapeze.

Ages: 3.5 to 17

Hours: Vary by age. Pre- and post-camp care available for specified full-day camps.

Registration: Weeklong camps run June 20 – August 19. Spaces still available.

Camp Scrap

What: Playing games, working on science experiments, and making lots of art— all through the lens of creative reuse and recycling.

Ages: 6-12

Hours: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Dates: Five one-week sessions. June camp is full. July spaces available. Junk-to-Funk camp will run for three weeks in August.

Oregon Zoo Camp

What: Animal-themed camps make each day special along with touchable animal visits in the classroom, guided zoo tours, games, crafts, stories and songs. Zoo events and activities are incorporated into the camps.

Ages: 4 years through 8th grade

Hours: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Early drop-off (8:00 am – 9:00 am) and late pick-up (4:00 pm – 6:00 pm) are available.

Dates: June 20 to Sept 2. Spaces available.
