Henry Hagg Lake

Grill on the lake! The man-made lake of Henry Hagg is a hot spot in the summer, with families splashing in the shallows and boats churning the waters. They have a few reservable sites, but there are plenty of first-come first serve tables and grills scattered throughout. If you feel like you need to work off your meal there are hiking trails and disc golf, and the lake is stocked with fish for fishing.

Insider tip: Portland Parks and Recreation runs most of the parks in the city—all the covered picnic shelters and BBQ grills can be rented through them. Outside of that, all parks have tables that are first-come first serve. Day-use fees notes where applicable. Get out there and chow down!
