If you’ll be sticking around town, here’s a round up of ways to create a memorable spring break for your children.Most camps are already accepting applications and run from March 21 – 25 unless otherwise noted. Audubon Society of PortlandWhat: Offers 16 different day and overnight camps—including Amphibians Ahoy (2nd and 3rd grade), Surf’s Up (4th to 6th grade), and Life in Death Valley (6th to 8th grade), which includes and overnight camping trip.Ages: Grades 1 through 8Hours: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (except for overnight trips)Details here.The Playground Gym What: A mix of open-gym time, organized games, skills-building activities, craft, music and art time, and games from martial arts, gymnastics, creative movement, yoga, physical education and more. You can be sure your child will come home happy and a little bit tired each day.Ages: 5-12Hours: Full day 9:00 am – 3:3o pm, half day (9:00 am – noon, 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm), and after care (3:30 pm – 5:30 pm)Details here. Portland Children’s Museum What: Children learn how clay, paper, paint and other mediums teach us about our world and about ourselves through hands-on exploration. Physical Theatre School What: An exploration of creative movement, physical theater, acrobatics, and trapeze.
