Whether you are having your first, second or third child, the following four Portland studios know just what moms need to get ready for the baby. Read on to find out more about the best prenatal yoga classes our city has to offer.

The Bhaktishop
When savasana comes to an end you’ll be saying, “Namaste”, because each class offers your baby bearing body a bit of bliss. This studio provides prenatal yoga classes three times a week, but their love and compassion for pregnant students doesn’t stop there, they also offer comprehensive self-care workshops and classes for mamas-to-be and new mamas. Their childbirth preparation classes are designed to help couples prepare for the chid birthing process together. They also offer a postpartum self-care worshops for mothers-to-be and a postpartum workshop for new mothers. This studio is prepared to be there for you every step of the way through your pregnancy and well after.

When: Prenatal classes are every Tue. at 7 p.m., Thurs. at 10 a.m., and Sat. at 11 a.m. Check online schedules for scheduled workshops.
Cost: $130/10 class card, $230/20 class card, Drop-in $15/class, $130 for 1 month unlimited. Note: They offer a two week unlimited classes for $25 introductory special.

Yoga Union
This studio is located in a beautiful, spacious building in SE Portland. They offer a Prenatal yoga workshop that addresses the changes that take place in mama’s body through each stage of pregnancy. Each class focuses on breath awareness and building strength and stamina that will support the whole body all of the way through labor and delivery.

Yoga Union also offers Mama & Baby classes that help new moms celebrate and navigate all that comes with having a new baby and the postpartum experience. Students will connect with their breath and focus on releasing tension in the neck and shoulders while stabilizing the core, low back and pelvis. Mamas may bring babies that are 6 weeks and up until they are crawling.

Prenatal Yoga 
Cost: $12/drop-in class or $110 for the entire series (Note: these classes are priced differently and separately from the standard studio classes.)
When: Thurs. 10-11:30 a.m.

Mama & Baby Yoga
Cost: $12 for drop-in, $55/5 class package, $110/per 10 class package. (Note: these classes are priced differently and separately from the standard studio classes.)
When: Wed. 9:45-11:15 a.m.

Mandala Yoga
If you love Kundalini Yoga and meditation then this studio’s prenatal classes will have you feeling zen in no time at all. Each class is designed to build strength and flexibility while refining the art of meditation, mantra and breath work. Students can expect to learn safe and effective poses and exercises that will support the body as it changes with each stage of pregnancy and prepares to give birth. The class’s teachings are geared to prepare moms for a conscious childbirth while discovering a deeper sense of peace and harmony. One of the aspects we love most about this approach is its focus on helping moms release any fear associated with the process.

Yoga Shala of Portland
This studio has prenatal classes and classes for kids. So if you are already a mom of one or two, your kids can learn yoga too. Yoga Shala offers prenatal classes that focus on yoga breathing methods, asana and meditation. Your teacher will guide you on a path that allows you to honor the changes taking place within your body while increasing your flexibility and strength. The classes are appropriate at every stage of pregnancy and will help prepare you for giving birth to your new little yogini.

When: Wed., Fri. and Sat. from 10-11:30 a.m., Tue. & Thurs. from 5:30-7 p.m.
