Sara Mauskopf, CEO and Co-founder of Winnie

Sara lives with her daughter Bryn (1) and her husband Eric in San Francisco California. She started Winnie with her partner, Anne Halsall, in January of 2016 in an effort to help parents find great places to go with their children. With data on over 250,000 locations as well as an iPhone app, her company has found great success with the new generation of millennial parents. Recently, Winnie’s mission of making parents’ lives easier found new meaning for Sara after her husband was diagnosed with and began battling an aggressive form of cancer and she began supporting him, and taking on additional parenting duties while continuing her work as Co-founder. While Sara has mastered the art of juggling family and professional duties, she says her greatest personal accomplishment is keeping her child alive for almost a year and a half. She says, “It wasn’t easy!”

Sara loves adventuring with her daughter and even though she now has fewer hours for work, she says she’s much more focused and has learned to prioritize and only work on the most important things. “I try to spend quality time with my daughter so that our time together, while limited, is memorable for both of us.”
