Real-Life Secret Santa Pays off $10,000 Worth of Layaway Toy Orders

Someone paid off $10,000 worth of layaway orders at a Cherry Hill, New Jersey Toys“R”Us. Oh, and it wasn’t Santa. Even jolly ol’ St. Nick wasn’t behind the pay-off, it might as well have been. The real-life Santa here is a man who only wants to be known as Charlie K. Check out what this generous guy’s story is and why he gave plenty of people (62 in all) an early Christmas surprise.

What was your Black Friday like? Well, if you went toy shopping it was probably filled with long lines, packed stores and not enough of the hot ticket items. But for Charlie K., Black Friday meant something very different. When he walked into the Cherry Hill Toys”R”Us he didn’t go to get a pre-holiday deal. Nope. He went to give.

Instead of filling his cart with toys, he filled the hearts of 62 shoppers with love. While he couldn’t pay for everyone’s Christmas layaway, he did manage to cover 62 orders. The grand sum of Charlie K’s generosity totaled $10,780.

When interviewed by the CBS news station on why he paid for the orders, Charlie said, “I’m trying to bring some happiness to people. Bring back to community that brought so much happiness to me and my family.”

One of store employees noted that they usually do have “Secret Santa’s but, not to that volume.” As shoppers filtered in to the store to pay for their layaway gifts, some of them were told that they owed absolutely nothing. Now how’s that for an early Christmas present?
