Off the Grid Food Adventures for the Whole Family

The latest culinary rage is street food and Off The Grid has organized mouth-watering extravaganzas featuring the best of mobile food vendors, carts, and peddlers in San Francisco. Every Friday evening from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Fort Mason turns into a mobile food fair with 30 food trucks and vendors featuring snacks and meals from around the world. It is the hippest place to be these days, and unlike most trendy restaurants, the event is very family-friendly!

Take the family on a progressive dinner around the world without stepping foot outside Fort Mason. You can get everything from Mayan tamales at Chaac Mool to seaweed-wrapped rice balls at Onigilly, Malaysian crepes from Azalina’s, and kati rolls at Curry Up Now. Live music will get the kids dancing while you enjoy a beer from the bar  – making dinner a true happy hour!

Can’t make it to Fort Mason on Friday nights? Off the Grid has expanded to various locations around the city including a Thursday evening food fair from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Upper Haight and daytime events at Civic Center, the UN Plaza, Fifth and Minna, and McCoppin.

Red Tricycle tips for your visit:
– Go early. Seating is limited and fills up fast.
– Wear baby in a carrier or break out the toddler shoes. Strollers might be tough to navigate as the crowd builds.
– Carpool. There is limited parking at each location.
– Eat a lot and have fun!
