While Seattle has its fair share of sunshine, it also has (more than) its fair share of what seems to be endless cloudy days. When it seems like the clouds and rain won’t ever go away or when the sunshine is so bright it leaves you longing for a tropical vacation, cozy up to one (or all) of these Hawaiian restaurants and let your mind and your taste buds relax in the comforts of island-inspired cuisine.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

If you’ve ever been to Hawaii, you’ve likely seen or eaten at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. In 1988, the owners of L&L Drive-Inn decided to franchise and expand their operation into the Mainland which now serves close to 200 locations in California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado Texas and Washington as well as overseas.

Serving up traditional Hawaiian plate lunches consisting of rice, macaroni salad and generous servings of a hot entrée, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue’s unique meal composition and signature brand of Asian and American fusion cuisine has helped it stand out from others that offer Hawaiian style cuisine.

On the menu, you will find combination plates consisting of a hearty mix of chicken, beef, short ribs, Kalua pork, fried shrimp or Mahi Mahi. Beef and pork plates come with your choice of thinly sliced barbecue beef with special L&L teriyaki sauce, hamburger patties served with rice and brown gravy and topped with two eggs and smoke-flavored shredded Kalua pork mixed with cabbage. For those who prefer chicken, the Chicken Katsu and grilled boneless marinated chicken will not disappoint. Other Hawaiian dishes on the menu include Masubi with Spam, Portuguese sausage, chicken katsu or barbecue chicken; saimin mixed with Spam, chicken, vegetables, fried shrimp or barbecue beef; and a variety of burgers featuring L&L Barbecue meats.
