Explore: Medina Beach Park

With the teeny-bopper crowd back in school and the weather still trying to behave like summer, there’s no better time to take the little ones for an outing at Medina Beach Park. Nestled behind the quaint, white-trimmed Medina City Hall on Evergreen Point Road, the park is perched on Lake Washington with pretty views and a small swimming beach. Bring shovels and buckets to play on the sand or spread a blanket on the lawn for a picnic lunch that you pick up from the nearby-and-famous Medina Market [800 Evergreen Point Rd]. Called “the little green store” by locals, the market has served generations of Eastside fams since 1908 and after an 8 year hiatus, opened its doors again last year. Grab a Lily espresso drink or shop for that night’s dinner among the organic produce, homemade pasta, and the like. The kids will love to peruse the awesome selection of old-fashioned candy. If you wanna end the day with a bit more activity, head to nearby Medina Park at NE 12th St. and 82nd Ave. NE for the playground, or to watch ducks swim in the pond or dogs run in the dogpark. If it’s a weekend, the playground at Medina Elementary School is a fun diversion as well.
