Yikes, can it really be only Tuesday? Whether the big kids are at school and you’re dealing with toddlers, or your kid isn’t in school on Tuesdays, you might just be scrambling for something fun to do on a Tuesday. Here are our picks, from storytimes to art classes, to keep your kiddo occupied (and keep you from losing your mind!).



The Elliot Bay Book Company: Children’s storytime
Held most Tuesdays and Saturdays, ages 2 and up, 11:30 am.
Free. Meet at the castle in the children’s section.

Nordic Heritage Museum: Nordic Children’s Stories
First Tues. of the month, 10:00 – 11:00 am
Listen to a Norwegian kids’ story and complete a craft project. Target audience: Preschoolers and parents.

The Moon Paper Tent: Storytime Adventures
11:00 am – noon
Storytime with a twist! Part of Moon Paper Tent’s Open Studio–$8/child, see below.

Mockingbird Books: Storytime
11:00 am
Free event offered daily, except Sundays. Everyone welcome, but usual ages range from newborn-6 years old.

Free storytime with admission. Keep in Mind: Children 12 months and younger get in free every day.

KidsQuest Children’s Museum: Storytime @ the Museum
Tues. and Thurs. 11:00 am
Informal storytime for kids of all ages. Free with museum admission.

Young Toddler Storytime: 9:30 am
12-23 months with adult, Registration required
Preschool Storytime: 10:15 am
Ages 36 months and older, siblings welcome. Registration not required, but space is limited.
World Language Storytimes: 2:00 pm
Stories, games, and music in a non-English language!

Kirkland Library: Wonderful Ones Storytime, 10:00-10:30; Family Storytime, 11:00-11:30; Evening Storytime, 7:00-7:30; Redmond Library: Preschool Storytime, 10:15-10:45 and Young Toddler Storytime, 11:00-11:30.

Seattle Acquarium: Tuesday Toddler Time
9:30 am – noon
A variety of hands-on activities for children 5 and younger accompanied by an adult. Drop in for any length of time, free with admission.

Orange Blossom Society: Open Play
9:30 am – 1:00 pm and 3:00 – 5:00 pm
Kids 6 and under can play while parents hang out, have coffee and use the free Wi-Fi. $10.00 for Parent and up to two children for 1.5 hrs with complimentary coffee & tea

Seattle Parks and Recreation: Toddler Indoor Play Areas
There are many indoor play areas open for toddlers every week day! Check the Parks and Recreation website for a list and times.

Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center: Indoor Toddler Playspace
Monday: 10:15 am – 6:00 pm
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 4:45 – 8:30 pm
Friday: 1:15 – 8:30 pm
Saturday: 10:15 am – 4:00 pm
