We Be Jammin’

Paint-your-own frog scraper instrument from Jamtown

You’ve always said your little one marches to the beat of a different drummer. With Seattle-based Jamtown’s artisan-made musical instruments, your kiddo can BE the drummer while marching to a gecko, turtle, or fish drum!

All items are bought directly from the artisans to support the principles of Fair Trade. Kids will love the animal “scrapers” and the “Sun Moon Star” Drum which can be played with a friend or parent. Perfect for a birthday gift for a crafty kid, some of their items have an artistic spin with a cool “paint your own” feature.
Jamtown will soon be offering parent/child classes, starting in April, for toddlers and their parent/caregiver as well as an afterschool series for kids ages 5-12 (which will culminate with a family jam session) right at their warehouse in Lake City. Hayden wants parents to rediscover the magic of music while jamming with their children. Find more info on these classes here. Additionally, Jamtown is offering a free, hands-on, community rhythm event for all ages on March 18th from 3-5 p.m. at Seattle’s Planet Happy Toys. And a one and a two and a…
