We know these long lazy days of summer won’t be here forever, so make the most of them and head to one of Seattle’s best parks for picnicking and enjoy an evening where “doing the dishes” merely involves recycling your takeout containers. Check out our favorite spots to pick up delicious grub for your picnic basket.

Pike Place Market

For the Northwest-y-ist Picnic: Pike Place Market (Downtown)

If you’re trying to impress the in-laws or guests from out of town, have them help you gather picnic supplies with a walk through Pike Place Market. Try a trio of cheese: the squeaky curds from Beechers, the creamy, soft Seastack from Mt. Townsend Creamery, and a pleasantly stinky Beenleigh Blue sheep cheese from De Laurenti. Saunter down the street to Sotto Voce for some spicy balsamic dipping sauce for the gorgeous baguette that you’ll pick up at Le Panier. Sneak into the side stalls to find Bavarian Meats for delicious, authentic, handcrafted, European-style cured meats. For dessert, let your noses lead you to Daily Dozen Donut Co. for a warm bag (or two!) of freshly made mini doughnuts.
