Social distance, you say? No problem. Your kids can join in on some of Seattle’s best activities and classes without leaving the living room. Whether they want to make a craft designed by the neighborhood art studio, livestream story time or take a virtual music lesson, we’ve got the local inspiration and resources you need for at-home days. Read on!

1. Explore your artistic side with Coyote Creativity’s new Virtual Coyote idea page. It’s filled with engaging projects like origami, photography, even baking projects you can do at home.

2. Choose a craft, go on a nature scavenger hunt or take a virtual tour thanks to the new Burke from Home program that recently rolled out.

3. Make your Mondays on pointe with the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s online activities for kids. Pick a Movement Activity when kids need to get the wiggles out, or browse their ballet study guides if you're looking to learn something new. You can also download their Newspapers in Education publications to add to your cultural arts school day activities.

4. Although you won’t find her at Elliott Bay or Third Place Books Ravenna for a while, you and the kids can virtually attend PJ Song & Story Time with Betsy Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. It’s movement, music and stories everyone will enjoy.

5. It’s Toilet Paper Roll Tuesday every week on Seattle ReCreative’s Facebook page. You bring the TP roll, and they’ll provide a creative way to turn it into a playful craft the kids will love. Psst… if you need curbside art supplies, you can order them online from Seattle ReCreative. You can never have enought doodads to make your crafts, right?

6. Take a (pre-recorded) music lesson with Meter Music School in your living room. Want to learn to jam on guitar? Drums? Ukulele? Simply, email the front desk and sign up to receive free weekly videos through April.

7. Check the National Nordic Museum’s Facebook & Instagram feeds for an easy craft project you can do with the kids.

8. Join Nancy Stewart via her YouTube page or Island Books’ Facebook page for a musical mini story time each Wednesday. Nancy’s songs and spirit will keep your tots entertained so you don’t have to.

9. Make your Wednesdays extra wild with Woodland Park Zoo’s Zoomazium to You blog. Check in weekly to find fun videos and educational activities your little animals will love.

10. Sit your toddler down for story time with the staff of the KidsQuest Children's Museum. Subscribe to their YouTube channel or tune in at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays to hear amazing tales streamed to your living room.

11. If it's calm you're looking for, why not join a Limber Yoga live class via Zoom? Find your zen by downloading their app on Apple or Android, then register for a Limber Babies class, prenatal yoga and more.

12. If you want to make slime, paint with shaving cream or try marble color mixing, head to Roaring Mouse Creative Arts Studio’s Facebook page. Preschool teacher, Raven will be sharing her favorite projects you can do at home over the next few weeks. Psst.. she posts often so check every few days to find creative inspiration.

13. Join Curt from Kong Academy for a live Facebook parkour session every weekday at 1:30 p.m. Get moving!

14. Visit the Arts Aloft studio virtually to download inspiring art projects you can do when you’re stuck at home. While you’re there, sign up to be included in their art supply lending library that’ll be up and running March 23, 2020.

15. Calling all drama kings and queens! You’ll find games, coloring pages and plenty of dramatic play each week on the Seattle Children’s Theater’s SCT @ Home blog.

16. Dig in to Seattle’s history with MOHAI’s Rainy Day History podcast series, produced by the MOAHI Youth Advisors. With six episodes to choose from, you’ve got one for every week the kids are expected to be home.

17. Turn every day into Science Day at your place when you synch up with PacSci’s Curiosity at Home page. Find activity ideas, experiments and videos that’ll keep kids guessing all week long.
