Skip afternoon snack at home and go très chic with a reservation for afternoon tea at Marlene’s Tea and Cakes, located in Carmel Valley. You and your tea-lovin’ tots will instantly appreciate the warm atmosphere and friendly staff, but it will be the to-die-for scones (made fresh every morning) that you’ll remember long after you leave. The white linen tea service is a two-hour tea time offered twice each afternoon at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The service comes with a fixed menu and includes kid-friendly options like bubble gum flavored tea as well as a three-tiered tray full of both sweet and savory treats. Reservations require 24 hours notice and Marlene’s is closed Mon. and Tues.
