Books are a staple on most family’s gift lists at the holidays. What better way to give the gift of reading than books about your kiddo’s home town. Bursting with beautiful photographs of images from all over our state, this book was written as a project by the California Poets in the Schools , conducted by Gail Newman. The rhyming couplets written by real school kiddos that accompany each letter of the alphabet remind kids of the state’s symbols, and beautiful fun places to visit such as Disneyland, Napa Valley, and Lake Tahoe. This is truly a special poetry book that highlights the abilities of young writers and celebrates how what a gift it is to live in California.
