Summer doesn’t just have to be beach visits and days by the pool. Treat the kids to something new and introduce them them to the magic of the stage. From stories of rags to riches, travelling the ocean on a giant peach or even a little dose of supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, you’ll soon have your little ones cheering from their seats as they turn into mini theatre buffs. Read on for the top picks of the best shows this summer.

Into the Woods

If your kids loved the summer blockbuster Into the Woods, then take them down to the AVO Theatre for a stage show spectacular. They'll be entranced with this retelling of classic Grimms fairytales as they battle to get home before dark. All the characters you love from the film are back: the baker and his wife, the evil witch and of course Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, the Prince, Cinderella and more. So do they live happily ever after? You'll have to watch and find out! This performance is recommended for kids ages 6 and older, so best leave any little ones with a babysitter.
