Zovargo just won a Totally Awesome Award for Most Awesome Animal Attraction in SoCal. We recently spoke to them about their experience as a business owner, the best advice they’ve ever received and more. Hear what they have to say below!

Red Tricycle: Your community recently voted you “Most Awesome Animal Attraction” – what do your customers value most about your business?
Zovargo: Our customers value our interactive, fun programs where they get to learn about our amazing animal ambassadors.

RT: What do you want people to know about your business that they don’t already know?
Z: We are a small, Veteran, Woman owned organization!

RT: How did your business get started and what was the motivation?
Z: Our business was founded to foster human-animal connections in a unique way that inspires conservation stewardship.

RT: Tell us, what do you start your morning with: 1. coffee 2. tea 3. mimosa 4. water 5. all of the above.
Z: The day begins with animal care first – as soon as we wake up we begin chopping salads, and prepping food for the animals.

RT: What is the most awesome thing a customer has ever done for you?
Z: Supporting our organization through donations of supplies mean so much and we’ve had a few Girl Scout Troops generously donate to our cause. This means so much to us!

RT: What is your biggest pet peeve as a business owner?
Z: A tough question! I’m particular about the look and feel of our animal displays and our general set up. It’s the one thing I’m picky about.

RT: How do you keep your stress levels down?
Z: I keep my stress down by always making time to cuddling with my personal pet parrots and my 10 and 12 year old rescued cats. Animals are everything!

RT: What’s your secret superhero power as a business owner?
Z: Do whatever sets your heart on fire! Passion drives me and I love what I do!

RT: Tell us, what is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received (as a parent or business owner)?
Z: Always be thankful. I never take anything for granted.

RT: How about the worst piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Z: I’m not sure I’ve ever got bad advice. Any advice always has a message and way to use it.
