Target Has Released a Line of $5 Wines & We’re Totally Pumped

Move over Two-Buck Chuck. There’s a new affordable wine in town. Target is once again proving that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a good time. Every mom’s favorite shopping destination has just unveiled a new line of wines with a very budget-friendly price.

The new California Roots label just debuted on store shelves at over 1,000 Target locations and it features five different blends, all for just $5 a bottle. According to a press release, they are all “carefully crafted with premium, California-grown grapes.” The varieties include Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Cabernet Sauvignon and a red blend. “We’re out to give our guests even more reasons to love Target—including exclusive products they can’t find anywhere else,” explained Jeff Burt, senior vice president of food and beverage at Target. “And we think they’re going to love California Roots—these wines are just the right blend of incredible quality and amazing value that guests can expect at Target.”

Target even gave wine lovers some examples of the perfect pairings for their new wines, but we’ve got a few of our own, tailored just for the mom-palate. Cheers!

Chardonnay – “Lush tropical fruit flavors and a bright finish”
Pairings: Your toddler’s leftover mac n’ cheese.

Pinot Grigio – “Vibrant citrus and tropical fruit flavors”
Pairings: The carrot sticks that were untouched in the lunchbox.

Moscato – “Delicate aromas and creamy peach and melon flavors”
Pairings: That tub of ice cream you cleverly hid behind the frozen broccoli.

Cabernet Sauvignon – “Juicy cherry flavors, hints of oak and graceful finish”
Pairings: The rubbery steak you reheated three times because a glass of water, a lullaby and an extra story were all needed tonight.

Red Blend – “Smooth berry and cherry flavors with hints of spice”
Pairings: The microwave popcorn you’ll be having for dinner because all you have energy for is sitting on the couch watching This Is Us.
