Advertisement photo: Halo Top via Instagram Are you a pint-of-ice-cream-after-the-kids-go-to-sleep sort of mama? Good news! The most popular pint-sized ice cream in America isn’t so bad for you, after all. According to Business Wire, Halo Top, a “guilt-free” concoction that has only 240 to 360 calories per pint (compare that to a whopping 1,000 calories in the average pint of Ben and Jerry’s), recently surpassed longtime pint-of-ice-cream power players Ben and Jerry’s and Häagen-Dazs to take the top spot.“The reason we’ve taken the number one spot is simple: We have amazing fans. We are eternally grateful to them for even allowing us to exist, let alone thrive,” CEO and Founder, Justin Woolverton said in a Business Wire report. “Our promise to our fans is to maintain the quality they expect from Halo Top and, of course, to bring them some exciting new things in the near future.”Halo launched in 2012 and has steadily collected a massive loyal fanbase. The company experienced a 2,500 percent increase in sales last year alone, according to Business Wire. And it’s not just low-calorie. Halo Top, which contains all-natural ingredients and comes in 17 flavors, also contains more protein (five grams vs. Ben & Jerry’s four) and less fat (two vs. 16 grams) and carbs (five vs. 21 grams).Sounds like now’s a good time for ice cream! What’s your favorite brand of ice cream?
