Dream getaway: Ōkunoshima In Japan

There are petting zoos... and then there are petting islands. With over 300 fluffy rabbits hopping about, Ōkunoshima In Japan is a surreal convergence of the past and present. In between all the fluffy friends trying to hop into your lap, there's abandoned factories to explore, a six-hole golf course to play and a Poisonous Gas museum to add to the overall bizarre experience. Rumor has it that a couple of rabbits were released by the Japanese government to test if the island was safe from poisonous gases and, as result of their new freedom, they multiplied themselves into a bunny bonanza. Now, that's a silver lining for any history book.
