When the Red Tricycle editors and staff aren’t on the lookout for the next cool local hangout, they’re masterminding up their ultimate family vacation. On their bucket list are a myriad of fun family destinations—some local and others very exotic. Flip through the gallery to find out what spots made the cut.

Dream getaway: The House on the Rock

Our family is jumping at the chance to return to Spring Green, Wisconsin. Why? This quiet town in America's Dairyland is home to House on the Rock, an architecturally stunning house and museum that has really wild and wonderful collections. If you walk through its winding corridors you'll see music boxes, miniatures, dolls, medieval armor, a faux sea monster and the world's largest indoor carousel. If it sounds bizarre, that's because it is -- in the best of ways (seriously -- have your camera ready). In fact, the whole thing is like stepping into a kid-friendly Wes Anderson movie.
