Disneyland’s New Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Park to Open Sooner Than Thought

There have been tons of changes and new additions to the Disney Parks as of late, but what we all really want to know is when does Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge open at Disneyland? Well Skywalker friends, the news is finally here: Summer 2019.

Disney officially announced on May 22 that the largest and newest land would be opening in the Summer of 2019 for Disneyland and late Fall for Disney World. And while Floridians will have to wait a little longer to venture to a galaxy far, far away, we are sure it will be worth the wait.

The announcement from Disney was accompanied by a teaser trailer that shows just a snippet of what to expect in the new section of the park. But to be honest, it doesn’t give us much––you’ll have to wait to closer to the opening to get a true feel for what awaits you at Galaxy’s Edge.

What we do know is that Galaxy’s Edge will be an entire immersive world as opposed to a new themed section of Disneyland or Disney World. Guests will feel like part of the action as opposed to viewing it from the outside––and we can’t wait.

Fresh rides and interactive experiences are all building up to the opening of Galaxy’s Edge and the future Star Wars-themed hotel in Disney World. We think it’s pretty safe to say it’s going to be out of this world.
