When Is Amazon Prime Day? This Year’s Sales Will Last a Whole Lot Longer

Amazon Prime Day has promised shoppers epic deals in the vein of Black Friday since 2015—but before we dive into the deals, just when is Amazon Prime Day this year? The answer, it turns out, is more than just a single day because this year, Amazon Prime Day deals will run for a full day and a half starting at 3 p.m. Eastern on Mon., Jul. 16 and extending through the 17th.

For 36 hours, Amazon Prime members across the globe will be treated to exclusive deals and offers on everything from electronics and toys, to back-to-school items and everyday essentials. This year’s Prime Day will also feature some of the biggest deals yet on Amazon devices like Echo and Fire tablet.

For the first time ever, Amazon Prime Day will expand beyond the online platform and into Whole Foods stores, where Prime members will save an additional 10 percent off sale items and deeply discounted popular products. Amazon Prime Rewards Visa cardmembers will also receive an additional 10 percent back—so you have the chance to really pile on the savings.

Another new perk this year will be the unboxing of gigantic Amazon boxes emblazoned with that famous Smile, which will appear at select locations throughout the country for a surprise event. Leading up to Prime Day, these boxes will land in major cities, including New York and Los Angeles, where they will each open to reveal a one-of-a-kind event. Meant to be a tie in to promote Amazon services like gaming and music, we can only guess that these events *might* include a famous performer or two.

Last, but certainly not least, this year’s Amazon Prime Day will also feature exclusive new releases from partner brands. Young shoppers will be most excited about the new Fingerlings Light Up Unicorn Mackenzie, which will be the first and only Fingerling toy to feature a light-up horn—available only at Amazon starting on Prime Day.

You don’t have to wait until the 16th to start saving. Amazon has already rolled out deals leading up to the big day with sales on Amazon Brands, as well as Prime Videos and Music.
