Consequently, the book explores every person’s power to change the world through strength of character and determination; not just magic.Malala knows a thing or two about determination. She was shot in the head at age 15 after refusing to stay at home when the Taliban declared that girls could not attend school. After surviving the gunshot wound, she devoted her life to helping girls and women get the education they deserve.Malala’s Magic Pencil, which is targeted to kids ages 4 through 9, will be released October 17 and will be available in stores or online. Psst! Malala recently got her advance copy of the book, which she proudly shared on her Twitter account.Opened the mail and thrilled to find a copy of my first picture book, Malala's Magic Pencil! pic.twitter.com/Zwoa1f28cC— Malala (@Malala) August 3, 2017 Apparently, Malala’s parents Ziauddin and Toor Pekai were the first to read it.
