Tinybeans Tested: This Double Jogging Stroller by BOB Gave Me My Life Back

best double jogging strollers 2022

It may sound extreme, but it’s true: The BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie Jogging Stroller changed the twin mom game for me. Double jogging strollers can be used by any mom with two little ones, not just twin moms. I just happen to be a twin mom who has searched high and low for months and months for a stroller that did not make me feel like a moving circus act every time I left the home with my babies.

One of the first things I realized about double strollers is how heavy they are. I ordered a random light stroller frame from Amazon that would hold both of my infant car seats because the double stroller I was grateful to receive off of my registry was way too heavy for me to use for my twins first doctor’s appointment. (If you’ve just given birth, you’re not supposed to lift heavy things.) That’s where my search for the best double stroller began.

The first double stroller I had was marketed for city living and ease. It was a common model that presented as a stacked stroller about the same width as a single stroller. It was, however, undeniably heavy and every time I wanted to collapse the stroller to bring it somewhere or store it, I’d have to remove bassinets, canopies, and basically… my entire trunk would be packed with stroller parts.

I started investigating side-by-side double stroller options. The usual massive width of these strollers creates a bit of an issue for swift steering, though. I do live in a city area, and sidewalks are wobbly and there are a lot of turns. I struggled with the idea of taking the babies out with the double strollers (now, two) I had and couldn’t seem to find a better side-by-side alternative. It started interfering with the amount of time I’d spend taking my babies for healthy walks.

I tried a double wagon, and while that was adorable for rolling up to our first outdoor barbecue event, it was less than ideal and way too wobbly for my babies to use it for a routine morning walk. I was still dreading the intense breakdown of the main double stroller I had, even though now I was cleared to lift heavy items again.

Truly, every second counts when you are by yourself with two babies out and about. When loading them into the car, first, I’d strap my one baby into a car seat and quickly stroll the other baby over to the other car seat to get strapped in. Then, I’d find myself in the street, while my babies were in my car, wrestling with a stroller and it was an unsettling feeling. My babies are patient, but all parents know the faster you can start the car the better to keep the little ones calm. Additionally, as a new mom, you just want to be right by your baby’s side every second. I would find myself triple checking my keys were on me, the windows were cracked, and keeping an eye that no cars were coming… while breaking down a complicated double stroller.

I knew the only stroller that would fulfill my needs would be one designed for speed, in every way, and that’s when I decided to take home the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie Jogging Stroller.

The BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie Jogging Stroller features two five-point harnesses to keep the little ones snug and safe on speedy rides and is available in two sleek styles which don’t draw extra attention. That’s a big bonus for me. A special feature about this stroller is the air-filled tires. Since the tires are filled with air, kids experience a super smooth ride, even on terrain that is anything but smooth.

Let’s talk about storage! Oof, there is so much storage in this double. There are 10 roomy pockets and an oversized cargo basket at the base of the stroller which makes this an ideal stroller for an actual beach day or a full Target run. The stroller is also technically compatible with most car seats. I don’t use this feature, but you would just need the BOB infant car seat adapter to hook it all up and turn it into a travel system. That’s a money-saving bonus I didn’t know about during my pregnancy. The stroller can be used from birth up to 50 pounds (per stroller seat), but BOB states it’s best to wait until the youngest babe in the stroller is closer to 5-6 months before jogging with it.

Unlike other stacked double strollers, the side-by-side open style allows my little ones to see and take in everything they stroll by. The seats feature compression padding for comfort and to support sitting upright. The babies appreciate the full-coverage canopies that offer UPF 50 protection, and so do I.

After popping open the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie Jogging Stroller for the first time, I realized not only did I have a stroller that was way more functional and easier to use, but I now owned a stroller that made me excited and proud to strap in my babes and hit the sidewalks and trails, thanks to the oversized all-terrain wheels and aerodynamic frame. I take the twins everywhere in my BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie Jogging Stroller, now, even if the frame still is technically wider than a single-lane double stroller with a stacking structure.

Aside from it being the fastest double stroller I’ve found to collapse and open up, it has plenty of storage room, and the side-by-side design means I can tend to both babies equally when they need me at the same time. I am happy to trade in ultra narrow doorways or pathways if it means I can have this stroller experience! While it is a side-by-side, there is only one wheel in the front that the stroller narrows out to which makes it feel less massive.

I wouldn’t call this stroller lightweight, it is a durable double stroller that weighs 33 pounds, but the seamless breakdown or pop-open experience make the whole process light in general. In fact, when I first received the stroller, I put it together (really just pushing in the wheels and popping it open), in a shorter amount of time than it took me to collapse my other already assembled double stroller options.

I am a spontaneous person, and I’ve been told that would have to stop when I had twins, but now I really can’t say it has. My diaper bag is pre-packed and my BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie Jogging Stroller is my new best friend. Try and stop us! You wouldn’t even be able to catch us! This double stroller gave me my life back, and I love experiencing life with my babies.

Clearly, the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie Jogging Stroller isn’t the most affordable stroller on the market. Do I think it’s worth it? Absolutely.

However, if you’re a new twin mom or a mom of two and are looking for a stroller that will feel easier to move around in a variety of locations, my recommendation would be to go straight for a double jogging stroller. I checked out what other parents are saying, and here are some more affordable alternatives which may suit your needs:
