And 77 will be rehabbed or built this year, thanks to Mayor Emanuel’s Chicago Plays! program. Best Hidden Gem: Coliseum Park Playground

Tucked in the South Loop, this is a welcome surprise for kids of all ages. There are turf mounds to climb, slides to whiz down and swings to catch air on. Get busy! Find it at 1466 S. Wabash Ave. in the Near South Community. Online: chicagoparkdistrict.com
