Whitney Surane of Madly Wish

Whitney started Madly Wish -- which sells an array of baby products -- after she tried her hand at sewing a rag quilt and "people seemed to dig it." She is a mother to five kids, ages infant to nine years, and got inspired to create items that she uses on a daily basis: crib quilts, sheets, burp cloths and diaper changing pads. This multitasking mom is accustomed to sewing and creating during nap time, after bedtime and even while she is surrounded by her family. She also uses her Etsy shop as a place to sell art made by her daughter, Lyla (7). Living in Channahon, Whitney enjoys walking with her kids along the I&M Canal near their house, and getting funky with a good old-fashioned dance party.
