This is a true hidden gem in the western 'burbs. Part cafe and part sprawling play space, Grounds for Hope takes up the front half of Trinity church (you do not need to be a parishoner to enjoy the cafe or play space). Grab a coffee and let the kids have the run of KidStreet, the main attraction that boasts a giant faux tree, plus a three-story jungle gym with plenty of exciting nooks and crannies. It's designed for preschool-aged kiddos and has all the makings of a great tree house: slides, tunnels and padded obstacles to scamper around. If you have a tagalong that's two or younger, direct him or her to the mini tree house that has a simple, wide hole for scurrying through. A side room has yet another tree house; climb to the top and whiz down a slide. Don't worry about leaving in time for lunch: There's a kids' menu of sandwiches and snacks available at the cafe, and seating spills right next to the tree house, allowing you to always keep tabs on your crew.
