8 Natural Playgrounds to Run Wild At

Bye-bye, plastic playgrounds. We’ve found a slew of natural oases to cut loose in. Made from wood, stones and good old-fashioned dirt, they’re Earth’s way of saying “Have a blast!” Click through our album to discover eight playgrounds made from natural materials. Who needs bells and whistles when you have fun like this?

Jaycee Park & James C. Mitchell Parks

Twofer! While both parks have some plastic equipment, they each have some excellent wooden highlights. At Mitchell Park, kids can get their rodent on as they run in a giant wooden hamster wheel. Yes, they’ll tumble. And laugh. At Jaycee, across the street, children can experience the fantastic tire swing zip line. It’s one of a kind.
