This Toddler’s New Favorite Baby Doll Is the Stuff of Parent Nightmares

‘Creepy Chloe’ is really something else

As a mom to two daughters, Brittany Beard is no stranger to her kids asking for new baby dolls. She just never thought she’d buy one from a Spirit Halloween store.

Alas, that’s exactly what she found herself doing on a recent trip there with her three-year-old. The Florida mom recently shared on Facebook how her daughter Briar selected a new favorite companion that is downright terrifying.

Like any parent would do, Brittany tried to convince Briar she didn’t need the doll. “But I’m it’s mommy and it needs me!” she said. And thus, Chloe (the name Briar settled on) became a part of the family.

Brittany immediately nicknamed the doll ‘Creepy Chloe,’ which seems about right. It has glowing red eyes and skin that looks like it hasn’t been moisturized for 100 years. “I’m pretty sure Creepy Chloe is stealing my soul when I sleep,” she writes.

With Briar and Chloe firmly connected at the hip, that meant the doll had to visit Disney World with the family—decked in a Haunted Mansion-themed princess frock, no less. “Because creepy babies need Disney magic too I guess?” Beard tells TODAY. Yes, yes they do.

On their park adventures, Briar and Chloe visited the Grand Floridian Cafe and met the restaurant’s pastry chef before being whisked away to secret rooms within the Haunted Mansion. Briar took photos with cast members and was presented with a certificate as an official Caretaker of the mansion. “Briar just thought she was royalty,” mom says.

On the topic of letting her precious three-year-old cart around a doll that resembles a pint-size Hellraiser, Brittany says, simply, “I’m just letting her be her.” Adds Briar’s dad: “You know, maybe it is a good lesson that you love everything no matter what it looks like.”
