If I had texted my dad from school that I started my first period and I needed pads, I’m honestly not sure what he would have done. A lot of dads just don’t understand the nuance that can be involved in choosing and using a period product—people who have never had a period just don’t have the right experience! This is the exact situation that a dad in a now-viral TikTok video found himself in, and while he kind of misunderstood the assignment, he might have actually understood it perfectly.
TikTok user @k.othabarber posted the hilarious video, where he starts by explaining that he got a text message from his daughter’s mom saying their daughter started her period at school, and he needs to pick up some pads and drop them off for her.

“She said to get her some Always pads with some wings, so I feel like I should tell ya’ll what I did,” he explains to the camera.
Then, he flips the camera around to show that he did indeed pick up Always pads with wings—and next to them, another kind of wings, just to be safe. Yes, friends, he has a takeout bag of chicken wings, hot and saucy and ready to be eaten.
“They got the wings,” he says, panning the camera over the maxi pads. “And she got some more wings.”
Now, you may be wondering if this dad did anything wrong. I would like to say that no, he did not. In fact, any time I ask for “pads with wings” from now on, I am asking someone to bring me maxi pads with wings and a side of chicken wings. Garlic parmesan, please.
Naturally, the folks in the comments are letting @k.othabarber know he did just fine.

Not only did this dad not bat a single eye at this request and get the exact right period product—but he even sweetened the deal with some junk food. That’s a dad who can teach others how it’s done.
