You don’t have to go big to keep your little snow bunnies entertained this winter. In fact, these tiny towns are proving just how much adventure one family can fit into a small space, with everything from sleigh rides and sledding to skijoring and sightseeing, and even a few that don’t include snowy goodness (hello, beaches and sunshine). Flip through to find your next pint-sized winter destination!
Frisco, Colorado (Appx. Population 3,084)
Just down the road from Breckenridge, this lesser-known mountain town is especially charming in the winter. Like most of the I-70 corridor, families come here to ski, but you can also get in more than a few runs down the 1,200-foot tubing run at the Frisco Adventure Park, or cozy up under a wool blanket for a mule-driven sleigh ride through the Rockies while you’re there. Then it’s time to warm up at the Moose Jaw before crashing for the night. Phew!
