This New Platform Is Designed to Help Kids and Grandparents Connect

Miles and schedules can often separate families, but new platform Grandy is designed to help kids stay in close contact with grandparents no matter where they are.

Created by two moms, Grandy is a unique digital platform accessible on computers, tablets and mobile devices featuring activities, games and reminders to help families stay connected and engaged. The key function is a messaging system that allows kids and grandparents to send each other messages along with photos and videos.

Families can also use the platform to play games together, like jigsaw puzzles and card games. Grandy also offers questions and topics of interest that kids can use to interview their grandparents.

Jennifer Rhodes, CEO and founder of Grandy, is a busy working mom who was in search of an easy way to keep her children and parents connected.  “I wanted my kids to create and maintain meaningful relationships with their grandparents before the opportunity slipped away,” said Rhodes.  “But I needed something easy for my mom to use, a digital platform that specialized in onboarding older adults and that my kids were also motivated to use. And Grandy was born.”

Grandy’s Basic membership starts at $49.99 per year or $9.99 per month and offers the standard services along with a telephone concierge to help grandparents easily set up and use the platform. Users can also select a premium membership for $79.99 per year, which includes a personal Grandparent Concierge dedicated to help with onboarding and other questions along the way or an in-person membership for $129.99 per year and feature special in-person visits that will be available in limited areas across the country.
