Recall Alert: H&M Children’s Pajamas Don’t Meet Federal Flammability Standard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recently announced a recall for 9,000 pairs of H&M’s children’s pajamas. The sleepwear does not meet flammability standards and could pose a burn injury risk to the child (in the event of a fire). Representatives from H&M did not immediately respond to Red Tricycle’s request for comment.

If your child has the affected H&M pajamas, read on for more information on the recall.

Recalled Product Description: H&M Pajamas

The current recall includes two styles of H&M sleepwear sold in sizes 2 through 10. The pajamas are 100 percent cotton knit and include a long-sleeve top and sleep pants. According to the CPSC, one of the styles includes a two-pack with a pink long-sleeve top with a dog face design and extended 3D ears on the front. The other set in the two-pack has a gray long-sleeve top with pink bow trim on the neckline and pink heart on the left chest area.

The other recalled product is a single set of pajamas with a white long-sleeve top. The top has a cat’s face on the front and 3D ears. The top is paired with white polka dot pants.

The tops in each style (both sets for the first style) are subject to this recall.

Why the Pajamas Were Recalled

While there are no reported incidents or injuries as of now, the recalled products do not meet flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. This puts children at risk for potential burn injuries.

How To Tell If Your Child’s Pajamas Were Recalled

Look for the seven-digit product number on the wash label located inside of the product. The affected pajama product codes are 0494860 and 0537645. The pajamas were sold in H&M stores across the nation and at http://www.hm.com from July 2018 through May 2019. The sets retailed for $24.99 and $14.99.

What Parents Can Do

If your child has these pajamas do not allow them to wear the sleepwear. Contact H&M 855-466-7467 from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. CT any day or online at www.hm.com for a full refund plus a $20 gift card.
