I scream, you scream, we all scream for free ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s! Tuesday, Apr. 10 marks the ice cream maker’s annual Free Cone Day, a tradition since 1978, and we’ll be running to our nearest Scoop Shop to snag ours.
From 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. local time Tuesday, customers can get a free scoop of ice cream on a cone with no other purchase necessary. To find a participating location be sure to check out the Ben & Jerry’s website since not every shop will be handing out free ice cream.

Residents in the Northeast also have the opportunity to snag a free cone at specific Showcase Cinemas locations, in lieu of heading to a Scoop Shop. If you live in Massachusetts, New Jersey or New York you’ll want to check your local Showcase Cinemas to see if you can enjoy a free cone before hitting up a new movie.
According to Food & Wine, theaters in Dedham, Foxboro, Lowell, Randolph, Revere, Worcester, Blackstone Valley, Edgewater, Brooklyn, Bronx, White Plains, Holtsville, Ridge Hill, Whitestone, Jamaica and Farmingdale are all participating in this year’s Free Cone Day.
Even though the weather hasn’t gotten the message that Spring is here and Summer is on its way, we’re glad Ben & Jerry’s did! Here’s to enjoying a chilly ice cream and saying goodbye to Winter.
