JoJo Siwa Reacts to Clip Showing the Cruel Treatment She Endured on ‘Dance Moms’

A resurfaced clip from Dance Moms has been going viral, and now JoJo Siwa posted a heartbreaking response

Sometimes it’s hard to remember that JoJo Siwa was only nine years old when she first appeared on reality TV and launched to global stardom. She was first featured on Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition, before going on to join the cast of Dance Moms in Season 5. One thing that Dance Moms viewers are sure to remember, though, is coach Abby Lee Miller’s treatment of the little girls who danced at her studio. She was infamous for being absolutely brutal toward them, screaming at them through intense classes and often leaving the girls in tears.

Now, a video of resurfaced clips from Siwa’s time on Dance Moms is going viral, and Siwa herself posted a response.

In the stitch, Siwa laughs as heartwrenching clips from Dance Moms play, including one where Miller tells the dancers in her studio, “I asked each of you to do a homework assignment, I wanted you to write about JoJo; reasons she should not be part of the Abby Lee Dance Company.”

Miller then hugs the other girls as they give reasons like, “Sometimes she’s very loud,” “sometimes she’s off with the dances and sometimes she’s a little too crazy,” and “you have time issues.”

After the dancers speak, Miller goes on her own rant, screaming at Siwa, “You’re lucky to even be a guest here at the ALDC. If you’re so good you don’t really need to be a part of the Abby Lee Dance Company. She deserves nothing! Don’t have an attitude that you are entitled in this world, you deserve nothing.”

Noticing Siwa is crying at the end of the scene, Miller snaps at her, “No crying children.”

While it’s great to see Siwa, now 19 years old, having a sense of humor about her past, it’s still terrible to relive the abuse she endured for the sake of a TV show. The fact that Siwa became so successful in the face of so much trauma is nothing short of remarkable, and after seeing that video, we just wish we could give her a hug.
