These New Trader Joe’s Animal Planters Are Too Cute for Words

The new Trader Joe's planters are cute animals

You’ll find a snail, a bird, and a turtle

Just when we are having the Wednesday-est Wednesday on the planet, Trader Joe’s steps in to brighten up our day with a brand-new trio of succulent planters. These cuties look like they’ve been hand-carved in wood but are actually lightweight ceramic.

You’ll find a snail, a bird, and a turtle to choose from (or just do what we did and get all three). Succulents vary by store, but we saw at least four options at the location we visited, with some lovely purple plants to go along with the traditional green.

Priced at only $4.99, these are the perfect addition to your picnic table this summer. They also make a lovely hostess gift as succulents are very forgiving and will even survive your week at the lake. Needing only a good soak once a week, we definitely think these new Trader Joe’s planters are a good investment.

The flower scene at Trader Joe’s this time of year is not to be missed. You’ll find peonies on their way out but big bouquets of colorful blooms are available at just $6.99-8.99. They will brighten any room in your house.

Snag a bunch of eucalyptus branches to hang over your showerhead to create a zen moment in your bathroom. Summer also brings basil plants and olive trees to Trader Joe’s—perfect to add to your backyard garden.

The mini pitcher plant is a fun one to pick up if you see it. This carnivorous plant is similar to the Venus Fly Trap in that it “catches” insects. The plant’s sweet-smelling nectar draws bugs into the pitcher-shaped leaves where they make their demise. Running at $6.99, these plants are also very difficult to kill and only require watering when they are bone dry. Bonus: you can count this as an impromptu science class for the summer.

Looking for a plant that you truly cannot kill? Felted sunflowers have been spotted at a few Trader Joe’s locations at the price of $19.99.

You may still be able to find the wooden flowers at your store if you are lucky. Pair them with the eucalyptus and you’ll have a centerpiece that will last the hot summer months.
