The Family Guide to BoCoCa: Paris on the BQE

“BoCoCa” — AKA, the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens — has long attracted a French-speaking and French-loving population, likely influenced by (among other things) the dual language program at area school P.S. 58. In the past year, a host of new French services and businesses have joined the BoCoCa pioneers, making this Brooklyn spot feel like a far-flung arrondissement of Paris. La Souris Verte ("The Green Mouse") describes itself as a French Immersion Playgroup aimed at parents who want their children to learn or improve their French skills in a creative, safe and friendly environment. They also offer after-school programs for kids from ages 2 and 1/2 to 10 years old, with a mix of activities including arts and crafts, music, cooking, board games (French Scrabble!) and more.
