Recipe: Green Goddess Dog

Let’s face it, sneaking greens into children’s diet can be tough—especially since most youngsters don’t immediately jump for joy when they see the vibrant color on their plate. Nathan’s Famous®, however, may have just the trick by jazzing up their traditional Skinless Beef Franks with the delicious, creamy Green Goddess dressing.

Ingredients

Nathan’s Famous® Skinless Beef Franks 1 pkg(s)
Ripe avocado, pitted and quartered 1 whole
Plain nonfat greek yogurt 1 cup(s)
Lime, juiced 1 whole
Garlic, minced 1 clove(s)
Green onions, trimmed, divided 5
Fresh parsley, plus more for serving 1/4 cup(s)
Fresh basil 1/4 cup(s)
Salt To taste
Pepper To taste
Hot dog buns 1 pkg(s)
Baby arugula 2 cup(s)

Instructions

  1. Combine avocado, yogurt, lime juice, garlic, 4 green onions, parsley and basil into food processor. Process until smooth. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  2. Cook your hot dogs your favorite way. We suggest pan-fried with butter!
  3. To serve, place hot dog in bun and drizzle with avocado yogurt sauce. Thinly slice remaining green onions and sprinkle over hot dog with baby arugula and parsley. Serve any remaining avocado sauce for dipping.
