Eight Fur-tastic Places to Adopt a Family Pet

If your little one has been begging (and barking) for a pet, it might be time to consider welcoming a new furry friend into your family. Pets can not only teach your kiddo responsibility, they can also help build family bonds. With so many furry friends who need a home, consider the motto, “Adopt, Don’t Shop” as you begin the search for your family’s new best friend. Here are eight San Diego pet adoption centers filled with pets waiting for a family to call their own.

Wee Companions

Don’t have the space for a dog to play or a cat to roam? Or maybe you’re thinking that a smaller pet might be better suited for your child? Check out Wee Companions! They specialize in small furry critters such as guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, mice and rabbits. Check out their adoptable animals online and then contact Wee Companions by phone or email to let them which animal(s) you are interested in meeting prior to your visit since all animals are cared for in private foster homes. Then when you stop by, a trained volunteer will help you find the best match for your family. Make sure you bring an appropriate carrier to safely transport your new pet home, or check out their on-site store open Wednesdays and Saturdays for cages and accessories.
