12 Local Artisan Gifts Perfect for Teacher Appreciation Week

We all know teachers do so much more than teach our kids how to read and write. They also help our kiddos grow and make sure they’re safe when we’re not around. Teacher Appreciation Week is happening May 4 – 8, 2015. Say thank you to your teacher by giving them a gift with a local twist. From jewelry to jam, and classic to quirky, we found artisan-quality, locally-made gifts (all under $15) that will show our teachers how much we appreciate them. Click through the slideshow to see what we found.

JersChocolates

Mmm, chocolate! San Diego's own Jer's Chocolates in Solana Beach is run by husband and wife team Jerry and Mariella Swain, who are also full-time parents to two little ones. Delicious peanut butter truffles, clusters of fresh nuts and fruits cloaked in chocolate and dark chocolate wafers are all on the menu for under $15. Plus, they've partnered with City Year so a portion of proceeds from your purchase goes to helping kids stay in school.
