E-cards are fine, of course, but nothing compares to the delight and surprise of receiving good-old-fashioned paper cards in the mail. There’s something about printed postcards and letters that just feel more personal, more thoughtful, and more real than digital greetings. Luckily, there’s a growing crop of smart, well-designed pixels-to-paper apps to help create and send personalized snail mail cards that show how much you really care. Flip through our picks of the best printed card apps that are anything but fuddy-duddy.
justWink Greetings
The justWink Greeting Cards app might be the digital offshoot of traditional greeting card giant American Greetings, but the app is definitely not old-school. With card template categories that include Whoa Sh*t Got Real to Yay! Thanks, justWink’s sensibility can be described as adorably quirky. The app lets users create and personalize cards for delivery via e-mail, Facebook, text or snail mail. Card templates are arranged into various categories such as holidays and birthdays. Once users have found their preferred card design, they can customize cards with photos, short messages and even a little signature/doodle box. Sending e-cards is free, while mailed cards carry a small fee.
