The Travolta Family Adopts the Dog from the Betty White Oscars Tribute

Betty White was many things to many people, but she was also a huge animal lover and activist. So it made complete sense when Jamie Lee Curtis took to the Oscars stage in the middle of an all-out celebratory Memoriam to help honor the late comedian with an adorable puppy in her arms.

Curtis shared, “She was not only a Golden Girl, she was a legend who brightened every room she walked in and brought a smile to the faces of all who watcher her on the screen. Day in and day out for almost a century, she was a woman who cared so much for not just her two-legged friends but for animals just like this. So, the greatest gift you could give Betty White is to open your heart and your home and adopt a rescue dog just like Mac & Cheese from Paw Works.” You can watch below at the four-minute mark:

After watching the wriggly puppy on stage, John Travolta and his 11-year-old son Ben decided they needed something special to take home from their night at the Oscars––Mac & Cheese!

According to TODAY, Travolta was seen in the green room holding the sweet pup before presenting the award for Best Actor.  He then took to Instagram the following day to share a photo with Ben and Mac & Cheese, much to the delight of fellow celebs. “Ben adopted this dog from last nights Oscar tribute to Betty White,” the caption reads.

He received adoring comments from colleagues that included Sharon Stone, Donnie Wahlberg, Michelle Pfeiffer and Debi Mazar.

Curtis shared in an Instagram post that “I had already left the Dolby theater last night after honoring Betty White and was on my way home when someone texted me a photo of John holding little mac & cheese in the green room before his presentation of the best actor Oscar. I thought it was so beautiful to see him with her and then today I found out that he and his son, Ben have adopted beautiful little mac & cheese and are taking her home today.”

While Mac & Cheese has found her forever home, you can still help support the legacy of Betty White and Paw Works in other ways. Whether you want to adopt a cat or dog, or make a donation in other ways, you can learn more at pawworks.org.
