Walmart is celebrating National Baby Safety Month this September with its first ever Car Seat Recycling Event!
If you have a gently used car seat, simply take it to your local participating Walmart. Trade the seat in at the Service desk and score a $30 Walmart gift card.

Don’t worry about your kiddo’s used car seat ending up in a landfill somewhere. Walmart is partnering with TerraCycle to recycle the seats. Tom Szaky, CEO and Founder, TerraCycle, said in a press release, “Through the Walmart Car Seat Recycling Program, traditionally non-recyclable car seats are now nationally recyclable.”
Szaky added, “We are proud to work with this forward-thinking company to offer families from coast-to-coast a way to give their car seat, the item that has kept their little ones safe, a second-life. Through this event, we expect to divert the plastic equivalent of approximately 35 million water bottles from landfills.”
The Walmart Car Seat Recycling Event will happen in 4,000 stores across the country from Sep. 16 through 30.
