How Whole Foods Will Celebrate the Arrival of the Royal Baby

Royal baby watch is in full effect as the world counts down to the arrival of the newest royal with the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby. Whole Foods is helping fans celebrate with a royal addition: cheese. Yes, really.

Whole Foods’ limited-edition “Royal Addition Cheese” is an exclusive item that will be available at select stores nationwide. “Cheddar is one of the most popular cheeses in both the U.K. and the U.S. and this rustic English cheese embodies the cultures of both the Duke and Duchess – just like the royal baby! In addition, the Royal Mark cheese uses tropical fruit pulp annatto to give the cheese a unique, vibrant orange hue, to match Prince Harry’s signature hair,” reads the Whole Foods description.

The red cheddar cheese, dubbed the Westminster Royal Mark, is made of the highest quality in Southwest England. It will cost $9.99 to $12.99 for a block, depending on the region.

When that cheese hits store shelves is entirely up to the new royal baby however. The cheese will become available only when the baby makes his or her appearance. With estimates putting Meghan Markle’s due date at late April or early May, it shouldn’t be much longer.
