Play Spaces on Speed

Ah, play spaces — little paradises for sweet, innocent young ones. But where do you go when your kid ages out of them (aka: when he threatens to steamroll the entire joint in a few single bounds)? Transition to bigger, more active arenas, where physical activity is king. Click through our album to discover the local places where the activity and energy is full blast.

Kidville Lincoln Park

Kidville really is an entire universe just for kids. It has a dance studio, gym, salon and boutique. When not hosting Camp Kidville (aka: summer classes), the gym turns into a play space with slides, swinging rings, ramps, and giant balls. Kidville structures its classes so that sessions target specific age groups so you don’t have to worry about bigger kids tripping over little ones. The Kidville Sports class introduces sports basics to kids in a non-competitive environment and Rockin’ Railroad’s “crew” teaches kids all things music – instruments, tempo, sound identification and more. Kidville offers a free trial class and while the play space is usually part of a membership, they are offering a drop-in rate through summer. Another reason to love Kidville (as if exhausted, happy kids weren’t enough)? Free parking!

1030 W. North Ave., 3rd floor, Chicago (312-344-1815 or kidville.com)
